Public Library Hosting Summer Reading Program

COPPERAS COVE, TEXAS – COPPERAS COVE, TEXAS – The City of Copperas Cove Public Library will host Summer Reading June 15th through July 31st in conjunction with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission and the Friends of the Library. This year’s theme allows for several fun Texas subjects to be explored!

Children ages 1 to 11 will be able to complete game boards of reading and activities to receive rewards of toys and coupons at three levels. Children who complete the top level will be invited to an ice cream sundae party at the conclusion of the program. Teens, ages 11 to 15, will enter weekly drawings for gift cards to local businesses.

Registration begins June 1st at the library and is ongoing throughout the program. Story Time with stories, songs, and crafts, is at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays for 1 to 3 year olds, and Wednesdays for 3 to 5 year olds.

Community organizations and local businesses will present interactive programs on Tuesdays at 2:30 p.m. for 5 to 11 year olds. Friday programs begin at 2:30 p.m. and are designed for teens, ages 11 to 15.

Thursday programs, beginning at 2:30 p.m., are for all age groups. Hey Lolly Productions will perform music, puppetry, and storytelling on June 18th, and Mr. Leebot will present Electronic Kids Music on June 25th. Circus Chicken Dog will entertain the crowd on July 2nd, while The Creature Teacher will teach about different animals on July 9th. On July 16th the Singing Zoologist will serenade the audience, and the Texas Treasures Magic Man will present his magic on July 23rd. Please arrive early for these programs as seating and parking are limited.

All programs are provided at no cost. Children under ten must be accompanied by an adult AT ALL TIMES in the library. Complete calendars and details will be provided at sign-up. For more information, please call the Library at (254) 547-3826. See you at the Library this summer!
