City Offers Free Bulky Items and White Goods Pick-up During Code Compliance Month in July

COPPERAS COVE, TEXAS – The City of Copperas Cove is observing Code
Compliance Month during the month of July. “This special time of the year
provides us with an opportunity to raise awareness about how code enforcement
officers work with citizens to protect the vitality and integrity of Copperas
Cove,” said City Building Official Mike Morton. The City’s team of
certified code enforcement officers work to create healthy neighborhoods through
proactive yet fair and reasonable enforcement of codes and ordinances. Key
objectives of the Code Enforcement Department are: - Educate
residents on codes and work with them to resolve violations
- Protect
public health, safety and welfare
- Increase the quality of life
- Increase property values
- Reduce vandalism
- Promote
maintenance and continued development within the City
- Ensure
attractive neighborhoods, vibrant businesses, and a peaceful, enjoyable
community for everyone
The City of Copperas Cove Solid Waste
Department will be participating in Code Compliance Month by picking up bulky
items, such as beds, dressers, tables, etc.; and white goods, such as stoves,
freezers, hot waters, etc., free of charge on the last three Saturdays of the
month and the first Saturday in August. Citizens are asked to remove all Freon
and compressors from white goods and to separate bulky items from white goods.
No construction debris or household hazardous waste will be accepted. The
pick-up schedule is as follows: - Areas 1 and 2 – July 11, 2009
- Areas 3 and 4 – July 18, 2009
- Areas 5 and 6 – July 25, 2009
- Areas 7 and 8 – August 1, 2009
