State of the City Address and “Meet the City” Event

COPPERAS COVE, TEXAS – The City of Copperas Cove, in partnership with the Copperas Cove Chamber of Commerce, invites the public to join us for the second annual State of the City Address and the first annual Meet the City event on September 23, 2009.

The State of the City presentation, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the council chambers at City Hall. Residents are invited to attend the presentation, themed “Real People, Real Progress”, which will provide a comprehensive overview of the City’s progress this past year, along with a glimpse of what to expect in the future.

The Meet the City event will be held in the afternoon, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Civic Center located at 1206 Avenue B. Each City department will host a fun, interactive booth designed to educate children and adults about the operations of municipal government. Activities include a pitching booth, bounce castle, putting green, face painting, equipment demonstrations, games, prizes, and refreshments. There will also be special appearances by Sparky the Fire Dog, McGruff the Crime Dog, Recycle Michael, Fester Rabbit, and animals from the Copperas Cove Animal Shelter.

Everyone in the community is encouraged to attend one or both events, and get to know the real people who work behind the scenes to provide excellent services to our residents each and every day.
